Jens-Christoph Lemke
Principal and member of the orchestra since 1989.
Jens-Christoph Lemke has been Principal Bassoon of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 1989, and has previously held similar positions with the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Danish Orchestra in Copenhagen.
With the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra he has performed, among other works, Richard Strauss’s Duett-Concertino, Sofia Gubaidulina’s Bassoon Concerto, and Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto on several occasions. A member of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Wind Quintet, he has premiered Christian Lindberg’s Concerto for Wind Quintet and Orchestra, given numerous chamber concerts, and released several CDs.
Lemke is also active on period instruments and has performed with the Drottningholm Court Theatre Orchestra, Rebaroque, the Swedish Baroque Orchestra, the Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble, Orfeus Barock, among others.
