Paul Waltman

Member of the orchestra since 2026.

Paul Waltman was born and raised in Stockholm. After studying with Karl-Ove Mannberg at the music colleges in Gothenburg and Stockholm, he received his Advanced Diploma in Solo Performance in 1998.

Waltman was a member of the second violin section of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra from 1998 to 2000, after which he joined the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 2010 he was appointed Second Concertmaster of the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra. From 2026 he is once again a member of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, this time in the first violin section.

Paul Waltman has appeared as a soloist with many of Sweden’s symphony orchestras. He has also made acclaimed recordings of works by Erich Wolfgang Korngold: the Violin Concerto with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Violin Sonata with the pianist Bengt Forsberg (Daphne Records).

In 2017, Waltman also gave the premiere of B Tommy Andersson’s Violin Concerto with the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, which commissioned the work for him.
